Key Responsibilities:
- Advise the business on a broad range of compliance and legal matters across European operations.
- Support and help implement compliance frameworks, policies, and internal processes.
- Provide day-to-day legal advice on data privacy issues, including contractual, operational, and governance questions.
- Review and negotiate legal documents, including privacy-related clauses, vendor agreements, and other commercial contracts.
- Partner closely with business, procurement, HR, IT, security, product, and other internal teams on legal and compliance topics.
- Assist with legal assessments relating to digital, technology, and AI-related matters.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments in Europe and translate them into clear, practical guidance for the business.
- Support internal training, awareness-building, and compliance initiatives.
- Coordinate with external counsel and local stakeholders where needed.
- Contribute to building a pragmatic, business-friendly, and high-performing legal function.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:
- Coordinate with external counsel and local stakeholders where needed.
- Qualified lawyer with approximately 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong experience in compliance matters, including meaningful exposure to data privacy. Exposure to AI, digital regulation, technology law, platform issues, or related digital topics is a plus.
- Experience gained in-house or in private practice with strong commercial exposure; law firm experience and strong commercial mindset is important!
- Understanding of how legal teams support business objectives while protecting the company appropriately.
- Business-oriented, solution-driven, and comfortable operating close to the business.
- Able to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple matters in a fast-moving environment.
- Practical, confident communicator with sound judgment and strong stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of another European language other than Hungarian is a strong advantage.
