Join us and take on the role of Refining Project Engineering Manager.
The assignment is planned within Investment Hungary organization, Project Preparation and Engineering department, and you will be the Person who:
is responsible for the technical scope definition and delivery of assigned refinery CAPEX projects across the project lifecycle. The role provides portfolio-level leadership over design and execution activities, ensures compliance with HSE requirements, and maintains alignment between schedule, cost and technical deliverables. A core responsibility is the measurement, reporting and active management of project progress, including timely initiation of corrective actions when required.

- Strong focus on progress and delivery: a key success factor of the role is the transparent tracking of project progress, ensuring milestone achievement and delivery of agreed technical deliverables.
- Trust and decision-making authority: significant professional autonomy and influence in preparing and executing project engineering related decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Ensuring a coordinated, constructible and cost-efficient technical scope in line with the approved schedule and budget
- Close cooperation with Scheduling and Cost Engineering in progress measurement, forecasting and management decision support
- Continuous monitoring of project progress, ensuring achievement of milestones and delivery of defined technical outputs
- Identification and management of portfolio-level technical, schedule and cost risks
- Oversight of technical execution during construction and decision support in critical situations
- Structured development, career planning and succession management for project engineers
- Active engineering resource management: planning, prioritization and optimization of engineering capacities across projects
- Introduction and application of innovative solutions, tools and ways of working to improve efficiency, quality and predictability of project delivery
- Driving process improvements based on project lessons learned and industry best practices
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal regulations (Code of Ethics, conflict of interest, HSE and data protection)
- Strengthening a sustainable, customer-focused operation and a strong HSE culture
What we expect from you
- University degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including several years in large-scale industrial / capital projects
- Solid experience in design, construction and project management
- Advantage: refinery, energy, petrochemical, oil & gas experience
- Confident and accountable leadership presence with strong decision-making capability
- Systems-level thinking and sound engineering judgement
- Clear, effective communication across different stakeholder levels
- Fluent Hungarian language skills (mandatory)
- Proficient English language skills
- Experience with relevant engineering and project management tools (MS Office, MS Project, PWA)
