Head of Group Downstream HSE
Scope:
As Head of Group Downstream HSE, you will be responsible for the professional leadership and governance of Health, Safety, Fire Safety and Environmental activities across the entire Downstream division. You will drive the development of a proactive safety culture, support business performance through HSE excellence, and ensure effective implementation of Group-level HSE programs across production and logistics operations. You will also act as a key member of the Group Downstream management team.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee Group Downstream HSE programs and projects, including related CAPEX/OPEX planning, technical reviews, quality assurance reviews, and contribution to HSE-related business planning activities.
- Drive continuous improvement of HSE management systems through audits, inspections, risk assessments and the implementation of best practices, while providing professional support during internal and external reviews.
- Partner with business leaders, management teams and HSE professionals to strengthen safety culture, improve process safety performance and support the investigation and follow-up of serious incidents.
- Lead the Downstream HSE performance management process, including target setting, KPI management, monitoring, analysis and reporting.
- Represent Downstream HSE internally and externally, maintaining active participation in professional organizations and industry working groups.
- Act as the primary HSE interface between Group HSE and Downstream organizations, coordinating responses, supporting implementation activities and contributing to divisional priorities.
- Lead and develop the Downstream HSE organization, ensuring effective resource management, talent development, succession planning and a customer-focused operating model.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements and company regulations, including HSE, ethics, conflict of interest and data protection standards.
Requirements:
- University degree in a technical field and relevant HSE certification.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in HSE-related functions, and at least 5 years of leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of HSE disciplines across refining, petrochemicals, logistics and industrial operations.
- Proven leadership capabilities, stakeholder management skills and experience in leading complex programs and organizational initiatives.
- Strong business orientation, networking and coordination skills, with an internal customer-focused mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- High proficiency in English.
- Advanced IT user skills and valid driving license.
