Join our E&P Geothermal & New Energies team in a key role where you’ll lead geothermal well related project scope activities. From managing and coordinating the design and permitting of geothermal wells to coordinating with procurement and other experts, and with external stakeholders related to the wells during the whole lifecycle of the project your work will influence geothermal heating and power generation solutions and other low carbon projects to our customers throughout Hungary.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates defining scope and design across key disciplines to shape geothermal well concepts, ensuring technical and financial feasibility in early project phases.
  • Collaborates with contractors during design and implementation, to uphold quality and consistency together with delivery in time and within budget.
  • Performs the technical and cost planning activities related to geothermal well operations, including deep drilling, well completion and, where applicable, well workover and well abandonment operations, in accordance with established principles and applicable regulations.
  • Provides design control and support to the organization responsible for execution.
  • Carries out preliminary technical planning, cost estimation and risk analysis required for drilling and, where applicable, other geothermal well operation project proposals within his/her scope of responsibility, and contributes to the preparation of the drilling and/or other well operation technical presentation to be presented during the Integrated Technical Review and subsequently included as part of the project proposal.
  • Makes recommendations for the modification, updating and expansion of technological instructions, as well as for defining the content requirements of technological and execution plans related to well operations and for making any necessary changes to established practices. Applies the approved standards in his/her work and supervises their application.
  • Participates in the introduction of new technologies and in the evaluation of the results obtained, and makes recommendations for technological developments.
  • Participates in the technical evaluation and cost analysis of drilling and other geothermal well operations.
  • Analyses and evaluates the data and information obtained during well operations within his/her scope of responsibility, and uses the results in planning in order to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of execution.
  • Performs analyses to determine the feasibility of specific well operations and contributes to the development of the technical sections of tenders.
  • Oversee and coordinate with all stakeholders the optimal design and operation of geothermal wells, ensuring that the wells’ lifetime is maximized and its operations are safe and reliable throughout the whole lifecycle of a geothermal project.

  • Educational Background: You have a University or College degree in engineering preferably in petroleum engineering.
  • Professional Experience: Confident and proven practical knowledge in designing, drilling and operating geothermal wells; preferably experienced with interactions with authorities and experienced with permitting procedures as a professional content contributor.
  • Skills:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably in Hungarian,
  • Customer and project focus
  • Coordinates engineering design reviews and plays an active role in them.
  • Capable of checking and validating sizing calculations.
  • Proven ability to compile facility lists for a well drilling and well-test together with the relevant experts.
  • Well design software knowledge
  • Confident MS Office skills
