Position Overview
As a pioneering company in new energy vehicles and battery technologies, BYD is continuously expanding its presence in the European market and enhancing global operational efficiency. We are establishing a European Tax Compliance Center to centralize, standardize, and streamline tax filings across European countries. As a European Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of tax compliance processes, coordinating with internal teams, and progressively taking over local tax filing tasks to ensure compliance and support business growth in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
1. VAT Compliance & Filing
Collect and review VAT filing data in accordance with local regulations
Ensure accurate and timely VAT submissions and documentation across multiple jurisdictions
Work closely with internal tax team to resolve tax-related issues
Current primary countries: Germany, Italy, Hungary, Switzerland, Czech Republic
Experience in other European jurisdictions (e.g., France, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, etc.) is also highly welcomed.
2. Tax Compliance & Documentation Management
Establish and maintain tax records, supporting documentation, and process manuals
Ensure tax documentation is complete, accurate, and traceable
Support tax audits, internal reviews, and information requests
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues arising during filing processes
3. Support for Other Direct Tax Filings (Progressively Expanded with Business Needs)
Assist with corporate income tax, local taxes, withholding tax, and other direct tax filings
Contribute to tax process optimization and system enhancement
Provide cross-border tax compliance support
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above (Taxation, Accounting, or Finance preferred)
Experience in European VAT compliance
Fluent English (proficiency in other European languages is a strong advantage)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high data accuracy
Strong communication skills and ability to drive implementation
Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to manage multiple priorities in a multinational environment
Preferred Skills/Experience
Experience in direct tax compliance
Experience in tax advisory firms or multinational corporations
Knowledge of EU cross-border tax rules and e-filing systems
