Legal Counsel - Part time

Tesco operates in Hungary since 1995 and its head office is located in Budaörs. The company has built the country's biggest retail chain by running more than 200 stores all over Hungary.
More than 800 colleagues work together in our head office in Budaörs. We cooperate in 3 countries structure with the Czech and Slovakian teams on a daily basis to offer the best to our customers.
Please note that the position is part time (20h/week)!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Experience in Competition Law and Commercial Law
  • Hungarian Law degree - bar exam
  • 3-4 years of professional work experience - either in-house or a law firm, especially in FMCG sector is an advantage
  • Advanced English language knowledge (C1) - good command of Legal English
  • Great knowledge of MS Office
  • Reviewing and preparing contracts and other legal documents
  • Preparing legal analysis, opinions and statements
WHAT THE JOB IS ABOUT
Working independently on given tasks, projects and assignments related to relevant areas of law as an expert of the legal area under the supervision of the relevant line manager.
Providing expert consultancy to stakeholders. Delivering ad hoc legal tasks assigned to he/she in strong cooperation with relevant department. Collaborating with the legal team and cross- functionally with other departments.
  • Providing legal advisory and consultancy services in different areas of law,
  • Reviewing and preparing contracts and other legal documents,
  • Preparing legal analysis, opinions and statements,
  • Mitigating legal risks by ensuring legal agreements, documents and advice prevent the company from risks and litigation and/or help the company to succeed litigation cases,
  • Interpreting the laws, analysing problematic situations to assess risks and, where the risk is present, emphasizing risks to be acknowledged by Tesco business,
  • Actively monitoring local legislation and regulatory case decisions, keeping relevant streams informed on the updates, form and proceed next steps related to legislation changes, providing trainings to stakeholders,
  • Representing Tesco in litigious and administrative procedures and controls,
  • Taking active part in discussions on new legislation at relevant legislative bodies,
  • Working on its own development and expanding legal skill,
  • Following internal rules and policies.
