We are looking for a
Senior Agriculture Expert for Biomethane Value Chain
who will play a critical role in securing and optimizing sustainable feedstock supply for biomethane production. This position supports the development and implementation of agricultural strategies that align with MOL Group’s biomethane value chain goals, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and maximizing value from agricultural residues and energy crops.
The main responsibilities:
Identifying Biomass Sources: Evaluating agricultural feedstocks (e.g., manure, crop residues, energy crops) for biomethane production
Building Partnerships: Securing long-term feedstock agreements with farmers, cooperatives, and stakeholders
Ensuring Supply Stability: Assessing seasonal availability, logistics, and quality of feedstock
Ensuring Sustainability Compliance: Meeting RED III and EU criteria; supporting ISCC/REDcert certification and traceability
Providing Agronomic Support: Advising on crop rotation, soil health, and digestate application
Optimizing Technical Performance: Collaborating with engineers to improve feedstock pre-treatment and biogas yields
Monitoring Policy & Advocacy: Tracking agricultural policies and subsidies; representing MOL in relevant forums
Supporting Project Development: Contributing to feasibility studies, site selection, and rural stakeholder engagement
Requirements:
University degree in Agronomy/Agricultural Engineering
7+ years of relevant experience
Expertise in project management or project work
Negotiation skills and customer oriented mindset
Excellent verbal and written communication as well as strong presentation and organizational skills
Problem solving capabilities.
Understanding of EU agricultural and renewable energy policies is an advantage
International experience is an advantage
Hungarian and English language proficiency required
Slovakian/Croatian language knowledge is an advantage
Advanced user of Microsoft Office tools and Microsoft Project or equivalent
