ESG Manager (Carbon Accounting & PCF)

Your responsibilities
  • Coordinate the calculation of the Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) for thyssenkrupp Automotive, including methodology, data validation, and documentation
  • Define and maintain standardized processes, emission factors, and tools for PCF calculation across BUs and product lines
  • Consolidate carbon data from BUs to identify decarbonization potential across top suppliers and key materials
  • Derive supplier- and commodity-specific abatement strategies based on carbon hotspot analyses
  • Act as key interface to central functions incl. Procurement and Product Management
  • Provide support to BU product cost calculators with data models, tools, and upstream PCF data to avoid duplication of effort
  • Structure supplier engagement processes, including surveys and primary data collection, in coordination with the responsible teams
  • Ensure consistency and audit-readiness of PCF data flows, supporting external verifications (e.g. TÜV audits)
  • Contribute to BU-level sustainability roadmaps by providing carbon data insights
  • Report regularly on PCF-related progress within the central ESG function and across internal stakeholders
  • Accuracy, traceability, and consistency of corporate and product-level carbon footprint data
  • Implementation and maintenance of a standardized PCF calculation framework and tool landscape
  • Process ownership for PCF-relevant data workflows, supplier engagement formats, and emission factor logic
  • Contribution to group-wide abatement strategies and support of decarbonization initiatives with data-driven insights
  • Coordination of cross-BU carbon data consolidation and preparation for external audits or verification processes
Your profile
  • 58 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years in ESG-related roles (e.g. sustainability, environmental management, carbon accounting, process/project management, customer-facing ESG).
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related field
  • Relevant certifications may boost credibility for technical and leadership responsibilities
  • Proven experience with PCF calculation methodologies (e.g. ISO 14067, PACT, GHG Protocol)
  • Familiarity with carbon data structures, emission factors, and upstream/downstream supply chain engagement
