Category Manager (Group DS)
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Drive category planning, analysis, strategy development and implementation for a category in alignment with business partners. Establish relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Responsible for managing the tasks stated under “Main responsibilities” on a group level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster collaboration across Procurement and related departments.
- Lead and implement category management strategies, including working group setup.
- Drive cross-functional Category Working Groups and supplier selection within value limits.
- Develop and execute short-, mid-, and long-term procurement plans aligned with business needs.
- Monitor market trends and innovations to enhance category strategies.
- Support sourcing, supplier negotiations, and claim management (e.g., liquidated damages).
- Oversee Supplier Relationship Management, segmentation, evaluation, and development.
- Act as escalation point for supplier-related issues.
- Contribute to long lead item planning, market analysis, and ad hoc performance reporting.
- Ensure delivery of KPIs and savings targets.
Education, skills, experience:
- University (MA/MSc)/College (BA/BSc) in the field of Economics/Engineering/Law.
- 3-6 years procurement/category related experience.
- Fluency in English.
- User level ERP system (SAP preferred) and MS OFFICE knowledge.
- Traveling, B category driving licence.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
