Head of Group Downstream Category Management
Scope:
As the Head of Group Downstream Category Management, you will lead a team of senior category managers and oversee the strategic development and implementation of procurement category strategies across MOL Group’s Downstream Division. You will play a pivotal role in aligning procurement goals with business objectives, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering measurable value.
Main responsibilities:
- Define and deliver category management targets aligned with MOL Group’s strategic objectives.
- Lead and develop a team of 15–20 professionals, ensuring high performance and succession planning.
- Oversee category planning, analysis, and strategy implementation across divisions.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and MOL Group standards.
- Engage with senior stakeholders and business partners to drive procurement initiatives.
- Lead negotiations of strategic importance and approve supplier selections according to LDA.
- Develop and implement Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs.
- Monitor and report on KPIs, initiate corrective actions where needed.
- Ensure effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Actively contribute to the development and implementation of a robust compliance framework, including clear rules and controls that support transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct across all procurement operations.
Requirements:
- University (MA/MSc) / College (BA/BSc) in the field of Economics / Engineering / Law
- Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement/category management.
- At least 5 years of managerial experience.
- Strong knowledge of international markets, change management and procurement best practices.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Experience with economics/ supply chain /engineering
- Fluent English (C1 level).
- Proficiency in SAP, MS Office, and e-commerce tools.
- Strategic mindset, business acumen, and a proactive attitude.
- Willingness to travel; B category driving license required.
