Finance Service Manager - CSO

Finance Service Manager
Vodafone Group Financial Controlling and Operations is as part of lean HQ accountable for the financial accounting for the Vodafone Group and its local markets. The function relies on CSO finance processes and local markets for accounting inputs towards their deliveries as well as on CIS and IO for all existing and new system & process enablements. The Finance Service Business Partner team as part of the Group Financial Processes department is responsible to coordinate and collaborate with the other functions to ensure compliant, correct and complete inputs are received that facilitate the creation of our Group Financial Reporting.
Your role in a nutshell:
As a finance service business partner, you will oversee CSO (FinOps, IO and CIS) services to ensure that business needs are being met. You are responsible for the overall accountability of Group Finance business requirements. Being a service business partner, you play an essential role by providing oversight on Corporate IT, IO services and non-R2R process performance delivered by CSO.
What you’ll do:
  • Define, implement and manage the framework for the effective oversight CSO performance through FinOps process health measures
  • Determine KPI targets to ensure strategic delivery is being under taken within Lean HQ, and that it is supported by the correct performance measures and reporting systems. Lead and accountable for the target setting process to drive operational performance.
  • Understand external leading practice for Finance processes and craft performance measures to bring in line with best practice.
  • Collaborate with the Lean HQ R2R, Group Reporting and Controls teams to ensure their requirements and issues are addressed and resolved as part of the governance meetings and operating model
  • Acting as a point of escalation for complex issues, demonstrating good problem-solving skills and resolving conflicts in a professional and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing organizations to ensure the delivery of transformation initiatives that enhance the customer journey.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture within the organization, emphasizing empathy, professionalism, and effective problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Report on service performance to senior management, including status updates, risks, issues, key metrics, and improvement initiatives.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
  • Develop and deliver the Lean HQ process health framework and associated governance model.
  • Develop and Facilitate the reporting of the performance framework and associated governance model.
  • Agreeing appropriately designed measures of baseline health for all processes
  • Drive & develop on the process health targets to ensure accounting compliance and quality input to R2R.
  • Design and performance of investigations into breakdowns in process and drive assessment/design of appropriate remediations.
  • Delivery of appropriate measures together with relevant automations for data collection
What you’ll bring to the team:
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
  • Experience across multiple financial processes
  • A working knowledge of accounting standards and the telecoms market
  • Strong communication skills (written, oral and presentation) to summarise and explain complex issues to a variety of audiences
  • Change management leadership
  • Partnership and ecosystem building experience
  • Skills and leadership competencies for people relations, negotiation, decision making, and problem solving including conflict management
  • Stakeholder management and ability to influence senior stakeholders (E band and above)
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree or sufficient work experience in Economics, Finance or IT
  • Global Process Roadmap experience
  • System Project Management skills
  • Excellent use of specific tools – Power Point, Work, Excel, SharePoint
  • Specific Change and or Project Management certification
